Specific objectives for the first undertakings of the Green Vision Foundation include the following:
- To improve the knowledge about southern Africa and especially the southern African World Heritage Sites;
- To build and improve the consciousness, identity and pride of South Africans through their deeper understanding of the South African cultural heritage;
- To create consciousness and provide people in the regions of the World Heritage Sites of South Africa with a sense of importance in global historic terms, by highlighting and contextualizing events and history of South Africa from 2000 million years ago to current;
- To share knowledge about South Africa with the rest of the African Nations and the world, to build pride in being an African and from the African Continent;
- To generate significant interest and appreciation of the cultural heritage of South Africans relating to the pre-colonial history of South Africa and Africa;
- To create a sense of belonging and thereby stimulate the need and interests of people towards conservation and maintenance of these sites/areas for the future;
- To acknowledge and contribute to tourism as a major growth sector (as demonstrated by tourism's inclusion as one of four major focus areas in the New Plan for African Development - NEPAD;
- To build on the perception of South Africa as a prime eco-tourist destination, provided its natural beauty and rich cultural heritage is promoted;
- To
provide a product which can be shared between friends and families and be treasured with pride.
