"Essence of a Land is an exquisite collection of photographs of South Africa`s World Hiretiage Sites, with essays on the sites written by experts working in the relevant fields. Preceding the chapters on the sites are landscapes and wildlife photos, setting the scene for what is to come. Pour a cup of coffee, pull up a chair and indulge in what this country`s crown jewels have to offer; if your`re unable to travel to the sites yourself, this book is a magic carpet to take you part of the way there."

A work of art! A beautifully designed book that combines the elements of good photography and concise yet readable text. It shows parts of South Africa known by few alongside a glimpse into the origins of mankind; science is interesting! Many thanks to the creative team that brought South Africa to my home in California.
